Treatment Foster Care Program
Therapeutic Support for Children and Youth

For the Children's Aid Societies of:
Durham, Highland Shores and Kawartha-Haliburton

           What is Treatment Foster Care?

Children and families are helped through services mainly delivered by specially trained treatment foster parents called Foster Parent Therapist. The child lives in a community with a foster family but at the same times gets the special help she needs. The child’s family can receive the support of a specially trained foster parent who shares the job of parenting the child with them.

Children remain in TFC from one to several years, depending on their needs. Once they graduate from TFC, they may return home, move on to another family setting or live independently.
Our Programs Our Mission Statement

Therapeutic Foster Homes Program

The child lives in a "whole world" - family, school, community. Treatment is therefore involved in a broad way.

Clinical Service Support Program

The CSSP is seen as a planned intervention to the child’s placement for a specified period of time to meet contracted goals and objectives.

Mixed Modality Program

Mixed Modality can be best defined as a bridge between traditional TFC programs and staff modeled settings.

The Treatment Foster Care Program is dedicated to helping troubled children and their families heal through a coherent, integrated constellation of services.

Based on professional assessment, clinically sound procedures, implemented primarily by the treatment parent, are designed to produce a planned outcome.

We are committed to providing excellence in service while maintaining a healthy living environment for children in our care.
